   A little story:

We were called by an attorney acting as conservator to the owner of a historic property near Lovers Point in Pacific Grove.
She called us to investigate cracking plaster on several walls inside the home. Putting a level on the floors showed them sloping toward the center of the house.
A new furnace had been installed in the crawl space under the house. To gain proper clearance for the exhaust vent, notches were cut into the floor joists
supporting the house causing the center of the house to cave-in.
The structural repair started by jacking up the center of the house. By sistering steel beams to what was left of the joists we were able to re-support the house
and still maintain the proper clearance.
After patching the plaster the home re-gained it's former glory.
